Showgirl Reunion

This is a FUN blog! Most of you don't know I was a showgirl in my 'younger' years. Ha! Surprise! Below is a special event I wouldn't miss for the world.

100 year Reunion for Showgirls

This event is in Paris, France, at the famous “Lido” on June 24th, 2010.

There will be friends I performed with that I haven’t seen in over 20 years.

I worked for MGM Grand as a Showgirl for over 13 years. I began as a “Bluebell” while finishing my Senior Year in High School. I was the youngest showgirl in our show with a cast of 300 people.

The stage we rehearsed and performed on was the size of a football field. We had a FULL SIZE Airliner that filled part of the stage as we danced on the wings.

I couldn’t believe I was featured in a book posing in a white tux and cane with a cast of showgirls behind me on stage…the next chapter was about Marilyn Monroe. Unbelievable! I still am amazed when I think about my bright past.

I guess I did get my Grandma’s genes…she did all of Mae West’s beaded dresses---
Grandma was her private seamstress.

I am thrilled and excited to participate in this special celebration. It will be fun to reminisce with old dancing friends.

As of today, I am 45 years old and still take ballet classes, Pilates, Yoga and more. I absolutely love it.

Occasionally, I have colorful dreams of wearing beautifully elaborate head dresses with sparkling costumes…that’s when I wake up with a smile knowing I was part of the last generation of “True” showgirls.

What is Alopecia?

I’m thrilled to be able to share my personal experiences, along with my clients, in cosmetic tattooing/permanent makeup. My first blog is going to be about Alopecia.

What is Alopecia?

Alopecia areata is a condition affecting humans, in which hair is lost from areas of the body, usually from the scalp. In some cases, the condition can spread to the entire scalp (Alopecia totalis) or to the entire epidermis (Alopecia universalis). The condition, (Alopecia universalis), causes hair loss all over the body…including the face: brows, eyelashes and facial hair. This is where I come into the picture as a Permanent Makeup Artist/Micropigmentation Specialist. Women, men and children will all benefit with increased confidence from their improved appearance after permanent paramedical repigmentation is properly applied.

Typically there is concern as to whether or not the permanent makeup will look "natural" if or when natural hair growth should occur in the future. The answer is "yes".

Consultations are required and are taken seriously. After your eyebrow and/or eyeliner procedure, you will feel comfortable with your appearance as you enter into the public eye. Basically, there is no "down-time" other than using some ice (or frozen peas) if swelling occurs.

Usually, clients will come in at lunch time and go back to work immediately after the procedures. Others feel more comfortable having their procedure done on a Friday evening (after work) so they could go home afterwards to relax and unwind.
